La manif devant la Régie du Logement -rebaptisée pour l'occasion Régie du Lentement- s'est super bien passée, 3h en plein centre-ville à tricoter pour protester contre les délais de 18 mois pour une audition pour les gens qui ont porté plainte pour des problèmes de chauffage l'hiver dernier! L'occasion de rencontrer les Raging Grannies/Mémés Déchaînées qui ont eu l'air enthousiaste par le projet du crew des Ville-Laines de recouvrir Montréal de tricot!

J'espère que la cause des patients locataires plaignants sera entendue par les autorités concernées et que le monster coup de soleil que j'ai attrapé en apprenant à 5 personnes à tricoter n'aura pas été en vain..

(La prochaine fois, je mets de la crème solaire, c'est noté..)

The protest in front of the Régie du Logement -renamed for the occasion Régie du Lentement- went pretty well, 3 hours spent knitting downtown to protest about the 18 months delays faced by tenants who filed a complaint this past winter before they get a hearing! 

It was the perfect occasion to meet the Raging Grannies/Mémés Déchaînées who seemend enthusiastic about the Ville-Laines crew projet of covering Montreal in knitting!

I hope the infinitelypatient tenant's cause will be heard by the authorities and that my monster sunburn caught while teaching 5 people to knit will not be in vain!

(Note to self: next time, wear sunscreen)

Avec des copines on monte notre crew de graffiti-tricot, les Ville-Laines, et on a posé notre premier tag collectif samedi.

Il est sur St-Laurent juste au nord de Prince-Arthur (devant le Eurodeli).

Le prochain va être au carré St-Louis... à suivre!

On a aussi été invitées à participer à une manif devant la Régie du logement. Le tricot engagé, c'est cool!

With some friends we created the Ville-Laines knit graffiti crew, and we put up our first collective piece on Saturday.

It's on St-Laurent just north of Prince-Arthur (in front of Eurodeli).

The next one will be in St-Louis square... stay tuned!

We were also invited to participate in a protest in front of the Régie du logement. Yay for political knitting!
